Leadership Team

Jay Wright

Jay Wright / President / LinkedIn

Jay founded Vertical Development in 1983 as a programming firm specializing in custom accounting and business inventory software systems. Sensing a need among Aftermarket manufacturers for catalog management software, he directed the focus of the company to that field, developing database publishing solutions to help distributors and manufacturers manage their parts database.

With over 30 years of management experience, Jay is responsible for directing the technology within the Vertical Development programming groups. Under his guidance, Vertical Development has grown from a systems vendor for a small group of companies, to the industry’s most recognized catalog system vendor with the greatest market share. His educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Computer Science from Iowa State University.

Ron Garand

Ronald Garand / Vice President / LinkedIn

Ron is responsible for account service and sales. He has been involved in the aftermarket since 1974, and his extensive experience in database development and catalog management was gained first-hand while working for such industry leaders as Fel-Pro, Chicago Rawhide and Wagner Brake. Ron’s skill in adapting content management systems to what our customers need and his attention to ever-changing industry requirements are valuable assets put to use with each company we serve.

Joanne Scripp

Joanne Scripp / Director of Operations / LinkedIn

Joanne puts her 20 years of experience in customer service and operations to work everyday, streamlining the flow of data between customers and programmers and making sure projects stay on track. She is responsible for developing the data requirements on each project, collecting the data, and then validating the integrity and mapping of the supplied data.

vCatalog – (DIY) Solution
The best solutions don’t come in cans – because they start by clearly defining the business problem; then design a solution to fit. That’s why we have an entire process for building solutions specific to the customer’s needs. Our software has streamlined data management for companies nationwide including everyone from the smallest aftermarket players to some of the largest manufacturers in the industry.

vCatalog – (DIFM) Solution
We’ll take whatever catalog information you have and load it into our industry leading vCatalog solution (like we do for all clients) but instead of you installing it on your server we’ll supply you with a missing coverage report based on the ACES Vcdb. Our personalized and fast turnaround will allow you to focus on expanding your coverage and we’ll focus on keeping your catalog information up to date with your partners.

Mapping Solutions
Mapping enables any company – even those without automated catalog systems – to export the same files used for producing their print catalogs in industry standard formats. VDI’s mapping service is modular in design so it can be married at any time with our other database and catalog management systems.

ShowMeTheParts is the most up-to-date public parts catalog available – with information on over 320+ suppliers and manufacturers of Aftermarket replacement parts. With lighting fast turnaround time you can be assured the information you find is most current available and published the way the supplier intended it.
